It’s almost been a fortnight since the confinement began. Over the last few days I’ve come to resemble the walking dead — minus the space to go walking around in that zombies at least have the privilege of enjoying.

For whatever reason — and I’m sure it has to do with the confinement — I haven’t been sleeping well. I keep waking up at 4:30 in the morning and struggling to get back to sleep. It’s been taking a toll on me, making it hard to do anything remotely productive. My goal of writing every day has fallen somewhat by the wayside. That’s not to say I’ve ceased writing, though — I’m still writing almost every day. But there’s no way I’ll be able to keep up the frenetic pace I somehow managed to sustain during the first week.

Since I have been feeling cold today and my throat feels a little iffy, I’ve decided to spend the whole day inside. While I don’t think I’m sick, I don’t want to risk becoming ill either. Besides, having spent most of the last two weeks cooped up in my bedroom, I feel comfortable remaining here.

That also means, however, that I haven’t really had much chance to observe things outside, but that’s not to say I have been a total hermit. Yesterday, while I was going for a walk, I noticed white petals blowing all over the…
