In this Era of Isolation, My Hands Feel Like Portable Landmines

Another sunny day has come to haunt the city. It’s already that time in the morning when oblique shadows start forming on the buildings opposite me.
The weather is a far cry from two days ago, which had started off fine before succumbing to rain. It was almost as if the weather gods were waiting for me to conclude my last piece before unleashing a shower I hadn’t foreseen.
Strangely enough, it was essentially the first time I had seen rain in close to four months. During that time life has been decidedly Californian, with each day striving to outdo the last.
While it was raining I decided to walk around in the apartment. I began walking in an anti-clockwise direction, retracing the path the earth takes around the sun. For whatever reason, I found this direction more natural than the other way round, which makes me wonder if traveling in an anti-clockwise direction was a law of nature not just for the earth, but also its inhabitants. I managed to reach around 3000 steps before dizziness compelled me to stop. It was worth it, though, because after a while I felt a whole lot better.
By yesterday, however, the weather had reverted back to its default state. In fact, with a high of 22°C, it was probably the warmest…
