Before I begin, I just want to apologise for the arrogant premise of this article.

I’m fully aware it sounds obnoxiously bold and brash, betraying a tone that I would usually steer well clear of. As someone who prefers to show rather than tell, I’ve always shied away from telling people what to do. Not only does showing off feel like a cardinal sin; it just isn’t my modus operandi.

Historically, I’ve also been reluctant to write meta articles about Medium itself, as it wasn’t too long ago when my feed was littered with Medium articles telling the world how to write Medium articles. It was like LinkedIn on steroids, the likes of which would disqualify you from 100 iterations of the Olympics.

There was so much noise, and I didn’t want to add to it.

But today, I thought I would go against my better nature and write the ultimate meta Medium article — namely, how, since the second half of 2022, I’ve amassed thirty-four boosted articles and three Medium Staff Picks — all three of which were published in the photography publication Full Frame.
