Glad you enjoyed the article. Totally agree with you with regards to drawing upon languages you already know. I majored in Italian at uni and my knowledge of French made things way easier. Most of the students had already studied French or Spanish before, and the fact they’re all Romance languages made it way easier to pick up grammar, vocabulary etc.

And yeah, thanks for the feedback about breaking up the article. I kind of attempted to put everything I could think of in this article, but I realise it’s a bit of an info dump. If I have some spare time in December/January, I could try to write some more digestible pieces.

And re cultural awareness, I can definitely see myself writing more about stuff. There’s still so much cultural stuff that I’m still getting my head around lol
