Forget About Your House of Cards, and I'll do Mine

Today has begun brightly like almost every other day. There’s a scattering of clouds in the sky, but it’s otherwise pretty clear.

Yesterday evening, a thick blanket of clouds created a soft pink sunset that lingered in the sky until just before nine.

Sometime in the afternoon I saw an ambulance pull over so that a desperate ambulance coming from the other direction could have a clear run. While I’ve seen quite a few ambulances over the last few weeks, that was the most extreme example I’ve seen yet.

I went for a jog a couple of days ago. While there was nothing really interesting that caught my eye, I’m reminded of another time I went jogging when I ran past a couple. The man was wearing an All Blacks replica jersey, which caught my attention. For some reason, I hadn’t considered the possibility that people outside New Zealand would want to walk around in All Blacks gear, but I guess why not?

It was surprisingly hot and humid that day, and felt more like a summer’s day in Auckland than what I had expected a spring day in Paris to feel like. Within a few minutes’ of my jog I was already covered in more sweat than I would have preferred.
